How Weapon Executions Work
Weapon execution
Triggered through the weapon's execution system.
Not location-bound
Unlike environment executions, these variants belong to the weapon family rather than a specific object or area.
Not the same as a normal weapon kill
If the requirement names an execution, a normal weapon attack kill does not automatically satisfy it.
Not the same as an environment execution
Object prompt → Environment Execution. Weapon prompt → Weapon Execution.
Variant numbers are site labels used to distinguish the confirmed cinematic entries; they are not presented as official in-game names. There is currently no evidence that a player can choose a specific numbered variant.

- 40 cinematic variants are currently confirmed across 7 weapon families plus Unarmed. That is the current count, not a claim that the game can never add more.
- Which weapon has the most variants?
- Hatchet currently has 9 confirmed cinematic variants. Variant count does not indicate weapon strength.
- Are the variants officially named?
- No. Variant numbers on this site are labels used to distinguish confirmed cinematic entries. They are not presented as official in-game names, and unnamed animations are not given invented titles.
- Is a weapon execution the same as an environment execution?
- No. A weapon execution belongs to the weapon family. An environment execution uses a specific object prompt. They do not substitute for each other.
- Does every weapon kill count as a weapon execution?
- Not automatically. If a Challenge or Achievement wording names an execution, a normal attack kill with the same weapon should be treated as a different action.
- Does Returning Home Challenge 5 require Wood Axe executions?
- No. The current wording asks for 3 Wood Axe kills, not Wood Axe cinematic executions.
- Which Challenge specifically needs a weapon execution?
- Into the Shadows Challenge 2 currently asks for a Cop Pitchfork execution.
