Choose Your Goal

Halloween: The Game Builds

What do you want your Civilian to be good at? Pick the job, then narrow the character, Trait and Perk effects that help.

There is no single best build for every match. These setups are organised by the job you want to do and explain the tradeoffs behind each choice.

Components

What Makes a Build?

A build is the Multiplayer Civilian view, not the Story character view. Story objectives and lore never feed a build recommendation.

  1. Civilian
  2. Base Attributes
  3. Unique Trait
  4. Perk Deck
  5. Starting Item / Match Context
  6. Playstyle

Base Attributes, Unique Trait and Perk definitions are confirmed game data. Calling a character a good fit for a role is this guide's editorial layer.

Build vs Perk Deck

Is a build permanently equipped?

No. This guide helps you choose the kinds of effects and cards that support a playstyle. It does not assume every match will give you the exact same Perk roll.

Perk Points roll Perk Cards, cards form a Civilian Loadout deck, and match rolls still contain randomness. Treat a build as a starting plan, not a fixed loadout.

Context

Starting Items Can Change the Plan

Supplemental Starting Items come from progression, so a build is a starting point rather than a fixed kit.

Where a confirmed character-to-starting-item relationship exists, it changes the opening minutes of a match. Where it does not, this page does not invent one. Adapt once you see what the match gives you.

Build FAQ

What is a build in Halloween: The Game?
A build is a starting plan for a Multiplayer Civilian: the confirmed stats, Unique Trait, Perk effects and starting context you lean on to do a job in the match. It is not a fixed loadout.
Which Civilian should I use for escaping?
Look for Resourcefulness, mobility and interaction effects. Annie and Marcus are the clearest confirmed escape-oriented kits, but the right pick depends on whether you need discover distance, unlocking or repair.
Which Civilian is good for fighting Michael?
Look for Capability, Athleticism and melee or resistance effects. Bob, Laurie and Lynda have the most direct confirmed fight-back kits. Remember that the Civilian goal is to create space and detain, not to kill.
How do Perk Decks work?
Perk Points roll Perk Cards, cards form a Civilian Loadout deck, and match rolls still contain randomness. This hub organises the confirmed effects by the job they support.
Do I get the same Perks every match?
No. Perk rolls vary between matches, so treat any build here as a plan for the kinds of effects to look for, not a guaranteed loadout.
Can I change my build based on the map and escape?
Yes, and you should. Items and escape locations change between matches, so adapt once you see the map, loot and escape state.
What happens to my build after my Civilian dies?
Your contribution can continue. Spectator Perks and the return roles let a dead Civilian keep supporting the match.

Confirmed = game data. Derived = calculated from that data. Editorial = this guide's judgement. Builds never overwrite the source definitions on the Characters and Perks pages.
