Before You Start

  • Play as Michael

    Not Civilian, and not Loomis.

  • Use the Kitchen Knife

    Do not swap to another kill weapon for this attempt.

  • Treat the entire match as one attempt

    The wording is a whole-match restriction: win using only Kitchen Knife kills.

  • Keep the win condition in mind

    Using only the Kitchen Knife is not enough. You still have to win.

How to Unlock Purist

  1. 01

    Queue as Michael

    Purist is a Michael match. Civilian or Loomis will not satisfy the role.

  2. 02

    Keep the Kitchen Knife as your kill weapon

    The restriction is on kills, for the whole match — not a single Kitchen Knife action.

  3. 03

    Avoid experimenting with other finishing methods during this attempt

    For the cleanest attempt, use the Kitchen Knife whenever you personally finish a victim. That is a retry strategy, not a confirmed game-side check.

    Win the match

    Kitchen Knife-only kills are not enough on their own. The match still has to be won.

Safest retry approach

Use the Kitchen Knife for every kill you personally perform and avoid other kill types during a controlled retry.

This is a clean-attempt habit, not a confirmed game-side check.

What Can Break the Attempt?

Definitely

  • Losing the match does not satisfy Win.
  • Killing with another weapon violates Kitchen Knife-only kills.

Avoid while testing

  • Environment executions, throwables, and other finish methods are not confirmed as counted or as failing. Avoid them while testing a clean retry.
  • Shape Jump and other special attacks are also not confirmed for Purist. Do not treat them as safe or as a fail unless a later note confirms it.

Why Didn't Purist Unlock?

    If not, the requirement does not match. Queue as Michael and start a clean attempt.

    Did you win?

    If not, the win condition is not satisfied. Knife-only kills in a loss are not enough.

    Did every kill you perform use the Kitchen Knife?

    If no or you are unsure, run a clean Kitchen Knife-only retry and avoid other finishing methods.

    Are you on a version with the 1.0.2 fix?

    A Purist tracking fix shipped in Patch 1.0.2. Update first if you are still on an earlier build.
